Trip Report: Dover Priory to Faversham Cycle via Ramsgate and Whitstable

The morning started with a bit of kerfuffle at Rochester Station whilst I waited for the remainder of our party to arrive on an inbound train from Meopham. Turns out that South Eastern had decided to cancel their train that morning, so we had to catch another. Eventually we met up, and caught the train down to Dover Priory Station in fairly short order.

With our GPS loaded with the route (see here for our trajectory) we left the station and started to cycle down towards the imposing Dover Castle perched high up on a ridge.

I’ve always marvelled at the lightweight jackets that friends have had syuffed in to their underseat packs, or their cycling jersey back pockets. How could such an item stuff down so small? I marvelled even more when these friends actually seemed pretty toasty in some chilly late summer evening rides whilst I had to shiver in silence.
